Trump Launches Moms.gov on Mother’s Day to Combat America’s Baby Shortfall

One month after the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (597 U.S. 215) — a decision that overturned Roe v. Wade (410 U.S. 113) — then-President Joe Biden established the Interagency Task Force on Reproductive Healthcare Access to ensure mothers could continue terminating pregnancies.

Biden also launched an abortion website during his administration.

During the Biden years, Veterans Administration facilities began performing abortions for veterans and their dependents, and active-duty service members were eligible for travel expenses if they sought abortions but were stationed in states that prohibited abortion.

Through the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Biden implemented privacy rules to protect women who crossed state lines from abortion-restricted areas to more permissive jurisdictions.

Biden’s most significant action was changing federal regulations on how deadly abortion pills could be prescribed and distributed, allowing them to be ordered online and mailed directly to their homes.

Reports indicate that every week, stories emerge of reluctant fathers ordering these pills online, having them shipped right to their homes, and then compelling their pregnant partners or girlfriends to take them, resulting in the termination of their unborn children.

The Biden administration’s top priority was ensuring abortion access despite restrictions enacted by anti-abortion lawmakers in more than a dozen states. Vice President Kamala Harris and Health Secretary Xavier Becerra were central figures in this effort.

In contrast, under the second term of President Donald Trump, pro-life policies have regained traction. The administration has already achieved numerous accomplishments, including ending Medicaid reimbursements to abortion providers, severing financial support for the abortion industry, dissociating the United States from powerful international organizations that promote abortion, and directing the Food and Drug Administration to conduct a critical study on mifepristone’s risks.

On Mother’s Day, President Trump launched Moms.gov, a federal resource platform dedicated to supporting mothers and families. The website provides information about pregnancy, maternal health, parenting, nutrition, breastfeeding, mental health, adoption, and family support services.

Moms.gov includes links to pregnancy centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), nutritional guidance, and educational materials for prenatal and postpartum care.

The platform also contains sections focused on breastfeeding, infant nutrition, preconception health, mental health support, and early childhood programs such as Early Head Start.

The website creates a centralized, user-friendly source of information for parents who may feel overwhelmed during pregnancy or early parenthood.
