Mace Stands by Epstein Files Vote as Trump Endorses Evette in SC Race

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., on Saturday defended her support for releasing files tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, posting on social media: “I voted to release the Epstein files. NO REGRETS.”

The South Carolina Republican’s statement comes as fallout continues within the GOP over efforts to force greater transparency in the Epstein case. Mace was among a small group of House Republicans who backed moves to release the files, framing the issue as one of accountability and justice for victims.

Her comments also arrive amid growing political tension between Mace and President Donald Trump. Despite Mace’s years-long efforts to align herself with Trump and secure his backing in South Carolina’s 2026 gubernatorial race, Trump recently endorsed Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette instead, leaving Mace without the support she had openly sought.

The episode has fueled criticism from some conservatives who argue Trump has distanced himself from former allies and supporters who pushed for the release of Epstein-related records.
