Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., stated in a recent interview that it is possible convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was engaged in intelligence activities.
During her discussion of the Department of Justice’s release of Epstein-related files, Luna revealed she discovered an unredacted document indicating Epstein possessed an alias.
“I found he had an alias while reviewing some records at the Department of Justice,” Luna said. “It appeared as an Austrian passport with his address listed in Saudi Arabia.”
Luna added that the passport was stored with cash and diamonds in a safe. “Most people don’t have fake names in safes with that kind of information,” she continued. “He definitely had intelligence connections. I believe the person dealt in intelligence and exchange of information.”
The lawmaker expressed concern over potential destruction of evidence related to Epstein’s possible espionage activities. “This operation could not have existed without intelligence agencies knowing about it,” Luna said. “So, what exactly was he doing?”
Luna also defended former President Donald Trump, who had been friends with Epstein and initially opposed the release of the files. “When he called it a ‘Democratic hoax,’ I understand that if someone accused me of trafficking people or being a rapist, I would react similarly,” she stated.
However, Luna clarified that her discussions with Trump were professional and not personal, and she was a strong advocate for releasing the documents. Trump later signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act on November 19, requiring the Department of Justice to publish nearly all unclassified materials within 30 days.
Luna noted that while the Department of Justice has released approximately three million pages, critics argue millions remain withheld due to redactions exposing victims’ identities.
