Florida Representative Mike Haridopolos said on recent television that Attorney General Pam Bondi has performed “a remarkable job” despite having “a lot on her plate,” praising her record on crime reduction and transparency while criticizing renewed Democratic scrutiny.
Haridopolos highlighted Bondi’s significant achievements, including a 20% drop in violent crime since she took office as Florida’s attorney general, where she addressed both violent crime and the state’s pill mill crisis. He noted that Bondi brought this tough-on-crime approach to her role at the Department of Justice.
“First, Pam Bondi has done a remarkable job,” Haridopolos said. “She delivered measurable results.”
The congressman also emphasized Bondi’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein file releases, which he stated the Biden administration failed to address for years. “More than 3 million files have already been released under Bondi’s leadership,” he added.
While Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are demanding further testimony about the Epstein files, Haridopolos accused them of political opportunism. “For four years, the Biden administration did nothing on the Epstein files. And now the Democrats have so-called found religion on this,” he said.
Haridopolos stressed that protecting victims must remain the top priority. “We should always protect the victims first and foremost,” he said.
His comments come amid a Justice Department shakeup, with President Donald Trump confirming Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will take over interim leadership duties. Reports indicate former Representative Lee Zeldin could also be considered for the role.
Haridopolos expressed confidence in the administration’s direction, crediting Trump with prioritizing law and order and restoring accountability. “Republicans, and specifically Donald Trump, made those files possible,” he said.
As questions continue about the Department of Justice’s next phase, Haridopolos noted that Bondi’s record on crime and accountability has set a strong foundation.
