John Morgan, founder of the law firm Morgan and Morgan, criticized former first lady Jill Biden on Wednesday for her support of her husband, former President Joe Biden, in his decision to run for reelection.
Morgan, a major donor to the Bidens, has condemned claims made in the former first lady’s book that she believed her husband may have been suffering a stroke during his contentious June 2024 debate with now-President Donald Trump. Biden withdrew from the race less than four weeks after the event.
In an interview on “Finnerty,” Morgan stated: “I own nursing homes in Florida. Dementia is a hard disease to catch. It happens slowly over time, but the people who see it first is your family. And she had to see what we all finally saw that night.”
Morgan also highlighted Jill Biden’s assertion that she hadn’t seen Joe Biden act in ways consistent with her concerns prior or since the debate. “Remember the George Clooney event where Barack Obama was holding him by the hand to sit him down?” Morgan said. “Of course she saw it since.”
The lawyer further remarked: “At the White House, you could call down at 11 at night and get a cheeseburger. You could go out by the pool and order sangrias and margaritas. Well, I don’t want to leave the Four Seasons either, but at some point in time, you have to put the country first. And she didn’t at all.”
Morgan noted he continues to communicate with members of Biden’s family. “I feel bad for Joe Biden because he does not deserve this,” Morgan said. “But this week you see him wandering up to a stage. At a certain point in time, we have to take the keys away.”
