Burgum Claims Trump’s Actions Forever Changed Global Energy Markets and Middle East Geopolitics

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum told Newsmax on Monday that President Donald Trump’s actions have forever changed the world’s energy markets.
Burgum told “Ed Henry The Big Take” that Trump’s moves in global energy markets and military strikes against Iran are driving new geopolitical alignments, adding he is “not really that concerned at all” about the U.S. energy picture today.
“President Trump, when we take a look at the global factors that are going on here, and whether it’s the conflict in the Middle East, whether it’s diplomatically, we’ve got alignment now with Arab countries that for forever were our adversaries,” he said.
Burgum said that will turn into new markets and business partners for the U.S.
“Now, they’re aligned, moving ahead with Abraham Accords, other things that are there. Great partnerships,” he said.
“Countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE [United Arab Emirates] … UAE has taken over 3,000 attacks from the Iranians,” Burgum continued.
“So the diplomacy in the Middle East has changed forever. The geopolitics of energy have changed forever,” he said.
“And on the military, President Trump has won economically with the blockade. He’s won.”
But Burgum said Americans might not recognize those changes because of reporting from some major media outlets.
“There’s so much misinformation going on … being spread about what’s actually happening. All of us have to keep staying informed.”
Burgum also praised the Trump administration for managing the World Cup on American soil.
“I think it’s easy to underappreciate the scope and the scale of what President Trump is accomplishing every day. But if you take a look at FIFA, I think there was over six and a half million foreign visitors that came, leaving with an incredible new sense of appreciation for the abundance and for the creativity and the innovation that exists here in America,” he said.
