Conservative commentator Glenn Beck warned on Newsmax2 that Americans are too focused on past terrorist attacks, missing what he described as a long-term Islamist strategy aimed at destroying the West. The comments followed escalating tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States.
During an appearance on “The Todd Starnes Show,” Beck, CEO of Blaze Media, stated the greater threat extends beyond 9/11 to a decades-long ideological campaign. When asked about his “long game,” he referenced “Global caliphate.” He argued that Islamist groups and leftist extremists share common objectives despite ideological differences.
Beck said he has warned for years about what he called a “Green-Red Alliance” of Islamists and Marxist radicals working “hand in hand” toward the destruction of the Western world and capitalism. He cited Blaze Media’s documentary “The Islamist Blueprint for Conquering the West,” noting a handbook linked to the project would present documents showing extremists’ plans for America.
Pointing to Osama bin Laden, Beck recalled a prediction he made in 1999: “I’m telling you within 10 years, there will be blood, bodies, and buildings in the streets of Manhattan,” he said. “And it will have his name on it.”
When asked whether American churches are adequately educating Christians about Islamist ideology, Beck noted many in the Christian community do not fully grasp the threat as he sees it. Framing the issue religiously, he stated that some Shia Islamic factions—particularly Iranian “Twelvers”—view world events through apocalyptic theology: “They are fighting a religious battle,” he said. “Whether you like it or not, it doesn’t matter.”
Beck escalated his warning to explicitly apocalyptic terms, stating he believes “there is a possibility that we are living in the end of days” due to Iranian “Twelvers’” religious fervor. His remarks came amid fighting involving Iran, Israel and the United States pushing the Middle East closer to wider conflict. The Associated Press reported Tuesday that the U.S. military was preparing to deploy approximately 1,000 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division to the region amid Iranian attacks and regional tensions.
