White House trade adviser Peter Navarro warned Monday that the United States must fight back against far-left lawmakers, claiming their influence threatens American democracy.

Navarro stated on a recent interview, “The illegal immigration that has occurred has imported different cultures, different people, a whole lot of folks.”

He added, “We’re in a democracy. And when folks with different values and ideas have the power because of the sheer numbers, that’s when we get in trouble—and we’re getting into trouble big time.”

Navarro compared fellow Democrats running for office to Latin American socialist dictators including Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and Juan Peron, saying they “must train these guys in rhetoric.”

He warned democratic socialists such as New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani are “effective communicators” in a “perverse kind of way,” adding that their ideology is “so ahistorical.” Navarro asserted, “It’s just a fact. Socialism and communism have never worked. Ever.”

Navarro also noted, “It’s just brought tragedy and poverty.” He explained that when more than half of a country’s population gains control under socialism and takes from the other half, “everything disintegrates because there’s no innovation, there’s no entrepreneurship, there’s no freedom.”

“We’ve got to confront this reality,” Navarro said. “The younger folk in this country are susceptible to these messages. They’re buying it.”

Navarro emphasized his role at the White House: “My job is to create good jobs for the American people at good wages.” He stated he wants to assure youth that “there are going to be jobs out of there, [that] are going to make you a lot of money and have a lot of dignity associated with them.”

Finally, Navarro characterized the push for free everything as “a bit troublesome.”
