President Donald Trump has vowed to secure a nuclear deal with Iran that will be “something the entire world will be proud of,” declaring his administration’s approach far superior to the Obama-era agreement and condemning Democrats for undermining U.S. negotiations.
In recent social media posts, Trump contrasted his current efforts with the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which he labeled “one of the worst deals ever made.” He argued that the JCPOA allowed Iran to advance nuclear capabilities while providing sanctions relief, placing U.S. allies at risk.
Trump emphasized that his administration’s goal is ensuring Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon through a strategy combining economic pressure, military strength, and diplomacy. “If a deal happens under ‘TRUMP,’ it will guarantee Peace, Security, and Safety, not only for Israel and the Middle East, but for Europe, America, and everywhere else,” he stated.
The president accused Democrats of being “weak and pathetic” and “traitors” who are jeopardizing U.S. negotiating positions during a critical security moment. He also insisted he faces no pressure to rush an agreement that falls short of American interests, adding: “Time is not my adversary, the only thing that matters is that we finally, after 47 years, straighten out the MESS that other Presidents let happen because they didn’t have the Courage or Foresight to do what had to be done with respect to Iran.”
The comments follow preparations for new U.S.-Iran talks in Islamabad ahead of an expiring ceasefire.
