President Donald Trump posted a video on Truth Social depicting a massive bridge strike in Iran, urging Tehran to “make a deal before it is too late.” The footage showed a towering bridge structure being hit and partially collapsing. Accompanying his statement, Trump declared: “It is time for Iran to make a deal before it is too late, and there is nothing left of what still could become a great country.”
Iranian state media reported that the attack targeted the B1 bridge in Karaj—a 136-meter-high structure designed to link the region with Tehran—during an airstrike attributed by Iran to the United States and Israel. Several individuals were injured in the incident.
During his prime-time speech Wednesday, Trump warned the conflict was nearing resolution but threatened to strike Iran “extremely hard” if Tehran refused his demands. Separately, Iranian officials confirmed bombs hit the Pasteur Institute of Iran, a century-old medical facility in Tehran, causing extensive damage as documented by Iran’s Health Ministry.
The escalation has intensified global concerns over shipping disruptions. On Thursday, the United Kingdom convened virtual talks with approximately 40 nations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper stated Iran had “hijacked an international shipping route to hold the global economy hostage.” France, Germany, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and India joined the discussions, while the United States and several Gulf states remained absent.
