European Parliament member Dominik Tarczynski stated that Poland’s border policies have made it the safest country in Europe.
Tarczynski said Poland refused to accept immigrants starting in 2015 and rejected efforts by other countries to send migrants there.
“We said no, zero, not even one will come to Poland,” Tarczynski added. “We did not let them in.”
He noted that leaders in Germany and elsewhere initially supported bringing immigrants into Europe for cheap labor but later shifted the burden onto Poland.
Tarczynski claimed Poland built a border wall after unauthorized entries occurred, citing President Donald Trump as an inspiration for the measure.
“We spent $2.5 billion on the wall,” he stated. “And I must say, Mr. Trump was a great inspiration.”
He also said that the wall did not stop all attempted crossings, with individuals attempting to destroy it and cross anyway.
Tarczynski mentioned that Poland revised its laws after an incident where an immigrant killed a Polish soldier, allowing border soldiers to use live ammunition.
“Our soldiers have a right to shoot,” he said. “We do not talk. We do. We take action.”
Tarczynski described the results of Poland’s approach as clear.
“The result is my motto: Be like Poland,” he stated.
He characterized Poland as the safest and cleanest place in Europe, with the lowest unemployment rate and one of the strongest rates of economic growth since the pandemic.
Tarczynski expressed pride in Poland’s transformation from decades of communism, calling it “a pearl of Europe” and “the last stronghold of normality.”
He urged other European nations, including France and Britain, to emulate Poland’s example: “Be brave,” he said. “Look at Poland and be like Poland.”
