Sean “Diddy” Combs’ scheduled release from federal prison has been moved up slightly by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, now set for April 25, 2028, rather than June 4, 2028. The adjustment follows Combs’ acceptance into a drug abuse rehabilitation program at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in November.
A prison official stated that Combs has “taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start. He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”
Combs, who has been incarcerated since September 2024 after being convicted of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, had his sentence extended from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028, in November due to multiple rule violations.
Prison records indicate that Combs violated rules by consuming homemade alcohol and participating in a three-way phone call, which is prohibited at federal prisons. Combs claimed he was unaware of the prohibition on three-way calls, and his legal team defended the call as protected under attorney-client privilege.
In December 2025, Combs filed an appeal challenging his four-year sentence, arguing that prosecutors failed to prove their case and that the judge violated his constitutional rights by imposing a harsh sentence.
Combs was found guilty after a two-month trial on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted on all other charges.
