President Donald Trump accused Jewish voters in New York City of being “stupid” for supporting leftist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, calling him a “JEW HATER” in an Election Day post.
Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform Tuesday morning: “Any Jewish person that votes for Zohran Mamdani, a proven and self professed JEW HATER, is a stupid person!!!”
The mayoral race in New York City has drawn national attention as voters choose between three contenders: Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, former Governor Andrew Cuomo running as an independent, and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
Mamdani, a state assemblyman and democratic socialist, gained prominence after defeating Cuomo in the Democratic primary earlier this year under the city’s ranked-choice voting system. His campaign has sparked controversy over his anti-Israel rhetoric and threats to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits the city.
Cuomo positioned himself as a centrist alternative, arguing that Mamdani’s policies would harm businesses and families. Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk publicly endorsed Cuomo as the only viable counter to what they called Mamdani’s “radical” agenda.
Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels, remains a long shot in the heavily Democratic city but continues to gain traction with his tough-on-crime stance. Recent polls show Mamdani leading over Cuomo, with Sliwa trailing in third place.
