Trump Border Policy Achieves “Extraordinary” Turnaround After Biden Years of Mass Migration

Former acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf stated on Thursday that President Donald Trump’s administration has achieved an extraordinary reversal at the southern border, with illegal crossings plummeting to near zero in many sectors—a stark contrast to the mass migration that defined the Biden presidency.

“The American people were pleading with the Biden administration to stop the mass invasion,” Wolf said. “But President Biden claimed he had done everything he could, and it was up to Congress.”

Wolf criticized Biden’s assertion of having exhausted all options, noting that Biden already possessed the authority to act but refused to do so.

The former DHS official credited Trump’s leadership for restoring order within months, calling it a return to sanity after years of border chaos. He emphasized the administration is now focused on removing individuals who entered illegally during the Biden era.

“The hard part is actually removing individuals that had come in under President Biden that shouldn’t be here,” Wolf said.

Wolf also dismissed criticism from left-wing groups, stating that organizations like the Brennan Center for Justice signal the administration’s correct approach.

He highlighted concrete results, including the seizure of massive quantities of fentanyl and the redeployment of Border Patrol agents to frontline enforcement. “During the Biden administration, about 80% of Border Patrol agents were in facilities processing migrants,” Wolf noted. “Today, all of those agents are out on the lines, keeping Americans safe.”

Wolf attributed the turnaround to Trump’s decisive leadership: “President Trump came into office and said, ‘We have a different way of securing this border, and we’re going to move forward.’”
