Rihanna’s Beverly Hills Residence Targeted: Woman Held on Attempted Murder Charge

Los Angeles police have arrested a 35-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder after she opened fire at pop star Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home while the singer was reportedly inside the property.

Authorities identified the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a resident of Orlando, Florida. She is being held with bail set at $10.2 million. Police confirmed the incident occurred Sunday afternoon around 1:15 p.m., when officers responded to gunfire reports. A law enforcement source stated Rihanna was inside the mansion during the attack but no injuries were reported.

Investigators recovered evidence indicating the use of a high-powered firearm, including assault rifle casings outside the residence. Police reported the suspect allegedly fired from a vehicle armed with an AR-15-style weapon.

A neighbor described hearing a single loud shot that echoed through the typically quiet neighborhood: “I was a little shocked. We don’t hear that kind of thing in this area. It’s pretty quiet,” they said. “I just heard one shot—it was really loud.”

Officers later located a white Tesla linked to Ortiz at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, where she was arrested approximately 30 minutes after the initial 911 call. Public records show Ortiz has prior law enforcement contacts in Florida: a 2013 bankruptcy case when she was 23, a 2021 careless driving arrest, and a 2023 domestic violence and battery charge.

In the weeks preceding the incident, Ortiz posted erratic social media messages referencing celebrities, particularly Rihanna. On February 23, she shared a Facebook post tagging the singer with the text: “@badgalriri — Are you there? ‘Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you’re talking to me where I’m not at.” Another post from February 17 featured an image of rapper Drake captioned: “When Drake found out Rihanna has AIDS,” followed by the hashtag champagnepapi.

The motive for the alleged attack remains unclear.
