President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump fielded questions from children nationwide during the annual NORAD Tracks Santa calls on Wednesday at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. The pair engaged callers by discussing what presents they wished for and making light of traditional Santa lore.

Trump asked a 4-year-old from Oklahoma, Anastasia, when Santa would arrive at her home, responding that “Santa is going to stop over tonight” and leave “a lot of beautiful presents.” When Anastasia mentioned wanting a dollhouse, Trump said, “Wow, a dollhouse? I think we can work that out.”

The president also interacted with an 8-year-old girl from Kansas who wished for Barbies. Trump remarked, “Well, you’ll get that, I’m sure,” before adding the child’s requests for clothes and candy.

Trump joked about coal, telling a 5-year-old from North Carolina that Santa “tends to be a little bit on the cherubic side” and would be “very disappointed” if cookies weren’t left out. He added, “You take care of yourself.”

NORAD, the U.S.-Canadian military partnership responsible for tracking Santa’s sleigh since 1955, has become a tradition where defense technology pivots from security to holiday joy. The program receives hundreds of thousands of calls each Christmas Eve, offering families real-time updates and a festive reminder that even precision systems can embrace magic.

The president and first lady concluded their call with military service members stationed globally, extending holiday thanks to those serving far from home.
