Journey keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain is paying tribute to conservative leader Charlie Kirk through a new solo single titled “No One Else.” The track, reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, commemorates Kirk, who was shot and killed during a campus speaking event in Utah on Sept. 10.
Cain shared an Instagram preview of the song, calling it an homage to the late Turning Point USA co-founder. He wrote, “A voice that inspired a generation. A legacy that will never fade.” The track is set for release, with Cain urging fans to “get ready to feel every word.”
In an interview on the Christian podcast “Strang Report,” where he debuted the full song, Cain described Kirk as a figure who “rocked the world” through his commitment to “righteousness, truth and the gospel.” He compared Kirk’s influence to that of evangelist Billy Graham, noting, “Not since Billy Graham has anybody rocked the world like Charlie.”
Cain emphasized that the title “No One Else” reflects how Kirk’s supporters described him after his death. “We need an appreciation song for what he did,” he said, adding, “‘No One Else’ — no one else could wear the mantle.” He highlighted Kirk’s “calling on his life” and his impact as a leader who engaged young people with “a powerful” message.
While no evidence of a personal relationship between Cain and Kirk has been disclosed, the tribute underscores Kirk’s influence. The song’s release aligns with Turning Point USA’s continued efforts to advance its mission following Kirk’s murder. The organization has confirmed plans for its fall campus tour, featuring Rob Schneider and Frank Turek.
Tyler James Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of killing Kirk, faces potential capital charges if convicted. He has yet to enter a plea, with his legal team requesting more time to review evidence before the next court hearing.
