Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz on Sunday accused conservative figures such as Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes of promoting antisemitism within the Republican Party. Speaking to Newsmax’s “Sunday Report,” Dershowitz referenced past attempts by conservative icon Pat Buchanan to introduce antisemitic rhetoric into GOP politics, recalling that former intellectual leader William Buckley had previously criticized Buchanan for his actions.

Dershowitz highlighted recent controversies surrounding Heritage Foundation Chair Kevin Roberts, who initially defended Carlson despite criticism over his interactions with Fuentes. While Roberts later distanced himself from Fuentes’ views, Dershowitz argued that Carlson was continuing Buchanan’s legacy by “turning the Republican Party into an antisemitic party,” a move he called “a terrible thing for America.”

The professor warned that both far-right and far-left ideologies share a common danger: hatred toward Jews. He cited historical examples, including Stalin and Hitler, and criticized modern figures on the left who “hate Israel and the Jews.” Dershowitz emphasized that the United States thrives on moderation, rejecting extremist views from any political spectrum.

He specifically denounced Carlson, Fuentes, and Republicans who “tolerate” them, as well as Democrats who “tolerate” New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, whom he labeled a “terrible, terrible human being.” Dershowitz praised House Speaker Mike Johnson for his support of Jewish communities and urged him to prevent antisemitic figures from gaining Republican Party endorsement.
