Ciattarelli Condemns Sherrill’s Desperate Tactics as Election Nears

New Jersey Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli criticized Democrat Mikie Sherrill’s campaign for leveraging former President Barack Obama’s involvement in the final days before Tuesday’s election, calling it “another desperate tactic by a desperate campaign on behalf of a desperate candidate.”

Speaking on “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Ciattarelli argued that Sherrill’s campaign is struggling to maintain support among key Democrat constituencies, including Black New Jerseyans. He noted that the Sherrill team was forced to relocate an event due to low turnout.

Ciattarelli highlighted growing grassroots enthusiasm for his own campaign, particularly in minority communities where Democrats have traditionally held sway. He emphasized that his outreach has generated “a really positive and overwhelmingly positive response” in these areas.

The Sherrill campaign’s decision to deploy Obama for a Saturday get-out-the-vote rally in Newark comes amid closely contested polls and early voting data showing waning Democrat enthusiasm compared to 2021 levels. Monmouth University’s latest poll revealed Sherrill’s lead within the margin of error, underscoring a tightening race as Election Day approaches.

Ciattarelli reiterated his confidence in his campaign’s momentum, stating that every engagement in minority communities has yielded “overwhelmingly positive” reactions.
