Actress Olivia Barash, known for her roles in “Little House on the Prairie” and “Repo Man,” faces potential eviction from her Los Angeles-area apartment within two weeks after a stroke left her financially unstable. The 60-year-old told TMZ she has been largely bedridden since the October medical emergency and struggles to secure healthcare and income.
Barash cited rising rent and disruptive construction at her apartment complex as factors worsening her situation. With no family nearby and few remaining friends in the area, she said her support system is limited as she recovers. “I want to move to a safe place and be normal again. I just need some assistance right now,” she stated.
She revealed she has been denied disability benefits despite applying for aid and is caring for her dog while managing her recovery. Barash also noted that income from her Cameo account has not covered basic expenses. Before the stroke, she was directing a documentary project and hoped to return to creative work once her health improved.
A GoFundMe campaign launched by friend Nanea Reeves aims to help Barash avoid eviction and cover immediate costs. The fundraiser, which had raised over $11,405 from 167 donors as of Tuesday morning, stated: “Our dear friend Olivia Barash needs help. In two weeks, she and her dog will be evicted.” Reeves emphasized Barash’s need for additional financial support beyond her pension to stabilize her situation.
Barash remains hopeful that with aid and stable housing, she can focus on rehabilitation and return to a normal routine.
