Sen. Tuberville Warns of Islamic Domination in New York Following Mamdani’s Victory

New York City will be “completely Muslim in three or four years” following democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral victory earlier this week, Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., claimed during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s “WarRoom” podcast. Tuberville accused Mamdani of advancing a radical agenda, stating, “We just saw what happened in New York. We lost New York. It will be completely Muslim in three or four years. That’s what they want.” The senator also criticized the influence of “Sharia law and the Muslims trying to take over all the areas in our country,” urging Americans to “wake up and smell the roses.”

Mamdani, 34, became the city’s first Muslim mayor-elect and the first person of South Asian descent to hold the position after defeating Republican Curtis Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent. His platform includes freezing rents for over 2 million stabilized tenants, making public transportation free and efficient, and expanding universal childcare. Voter turnout exceeded 2 million, marking the highest level since 1969.

Tuberville’s remarks followed earlier warnings that Mamdani’s election would “bring New York all the way down,” a claim echoed by President Donald Trump, who labeled Mamdani a “communist” and accused Jewish voters supporting him of being “stupid.” Mamdani has faced scrutiny for criticizing the Israeli government, further fueling conservative backlash.
