Trump Cabinet to Detail Economic Strategy Ahead of Midterm Elections Amid Iran Conflict

President Donald Trump’s political team scheduled an evening meeting with his full Cabinet on Thursday to strategize how top officials would highlight the administration’s economic record ahead of November midterm elections.

The session followed an earlier official Cabinet gathering in which President Trump emphasized tax cuts and other fiscal initiatives. White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, deputy chief of staff James Blair, Cabinet Secretary Meghan Bauer, and senior political advisers Tony Fabrizio, Richard Walters, and Tim Saler were to present the strategy.

The team planned to focus on provisions from last year’s tax and spending bill that reduced taxes for tips and overtime pay, as well as approaches for appearing on alternative media platforms such as podcasts. This gathering was part of a series of discussions the administration has been conducting ahead of the upcoming elections.

Administration sources indicate voters remain prioritizing economic concerns during tax season despite heightened national attention on the Iran conflict. Recent polling shows Democrats have gained ground in multiple state and federal races while President Trump’s approval ratings have declined.

Earlier Thursday, President Trump convened his full Cabinet in the Cabinet Room for an official session reviewing the administration’s economic record and the domestic impact of the ongoing war with Iran. During that meeting, Trump highlighted record tax refunds from this filing season, the elimination of taxes on tips and overtime pay, expanded energy production, and new support measures for farmers. Cabinet members simultaneously addressed rising gas prices and stock-market volatility tied to the conflict.

The afternoon session was open to press representatives for a portion of the discussion before being followed by a private strategy meeting later that day.
