“TRUMP WASN’T ON THE BALLOT, AND SHUTDOWN, WERE THE TWO REASONS THAT REPUBLICANS LOST ELECTIONS TONIGHT, according to Pollsters,” Trump wrote in a post following outcomes that saw Democrats gain ground in New York City, New Jersey, and Virginia.
The remarks came as GOP strategists analyzed the results, which highlighted underperformance in suburban and swing districts viewed as critical tests for the party’s messaging ahead of the 2026 midterms.
