Former Vice President Mike Pence lauded President Donald Trump’s performance during the first 10 months of his second term, asserting that the leader has demonstrated “a very strong start” across multiple domains, including border security, foreign policy, and economic growth.
Speaking on “Finnerty” with host Rob Finnerty, Pence—known for past critiques of Trump—highlighted the president’s decisive leadership in restoring American strength domestically and internationally. “I think the president’s been off to a very strong start in a whole range of areas,” Pence stated. He emphasized Trump’s resolution of what he called “the worst border crisis in American history,” citing improved southern border security and the continuation of “Trump-Pence tax cuts” as foundational to economic prosperity.
Pence credited Trump with executing actions “no previous president was willing to do,” such as deploying military force to neutralize Iran’s nuclear program, which he claimed “set the stage for the peace in Israel that we’re enjoying to this very moment.” He pledged high marks for these efforts.
The former vice president also promoted his upcoming book, “What Conservatives Believe,” explaining it aims to reaffirm traditional Republican principles amid what he described as a shift away from conservatism within the administration and the so-called “New Right” movement. Pence warned against isolationist tendencies, stressing the importance of sustained American global leadership. “Our administration governed on American leadership in the world,” he said, criticizing voices advocating for reduced involvement in Western Europe and support for Israel.
