Industry insiders revealed that hosting an event at Madison Square Garden — known as “The World’s Most Famous Arena” — typically ranges from $600,000 to $800,000. Booking the venue for two days would likely cost Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce between $1.2 million and $1.6 million.
A recent campaign filing showed that President Donald Trump’s rally at the Garden in 2024 cost $649,687. However, Swift and Kelce would face additional expenses beyond venue rental. Insurance for the event could total a minimum of $10,000.
Further costs for lighting, sound, catering, flowers, decorations, and labor could add another $10 million to $12 million, according to Jessica Stewart, vice president of marketing and sales at EMRG Media. Stewart added that audio and visual production — if there is a show — would cost an additional $1 million.
“It’s literally what we call a ‘venue takeover,'” Stewart said.
The couple would also need to cover security costs and New York City permit fees after the city classified their wedding as an “extra-large event,” which could cost at least $132,000 for permits. Extending the permit through Saturday to allow for equipment removal might add further expenses.
Taxpayers will also bear a share of the costs. Hundreds of police officers are expected to patrol outside Madison Square Garden, with overtime estimates reaching $1 million. Former Police Chief Kenneth Corey indicated that at least 400 officers would be deployed daily to monitor potential crowd breaches, costing approximately $360,000 per day.
Additionally, medical personnel from the city’s Emergency Medical Services unit will be on standby in case attendees become overheated or dehydrated, with costs estimated at another $500,000.
