Actors Tom Holland and Zendaya are legally married—a secret they maintained for months.
Holland casually confirmed the news during a newly published cover story interview with Esquire, ending weeks of intense public speculation about their relationship status.
The topic arose when Holland addressed the fallout from deceptive computer-generated imagery. Fake AI wedding photos depicting him and Zendaya at Lake Como, Italy, had circulated online, leading Holland’s grandmother to believe she was excluded from the celebration.
When Esquire asked if he needed to send clarifying messages to other family members, Holland replied, “No, because they were all there.”
Asked for more details about his secret wedding day, Holland stated, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
The confirmation aligns with earlier statements by Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach. In March, Roach told People, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.”
Rumors first intensified after Zendaya flashed a diamond ring at the Golden Globes in January 2025.
Before Holland’s admission, Zendaya actively deflected marriage rumors during a March 16 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” while promoting her film “The Drama.”
Kimmel noted that “the internet has gone berserk with stories that you might actually be married to Tom.”
Zendaya jokingly responded, “Really? I haven’t seen any of that!”
She also acknowledged that many people had been fooled by the AI-generated images. “I was out and about in real life and people are like, ‘Oh my god, your wedding photos are really gorgeous.’ And I was like, ‘Babe they’re AI. They’re not real,’” she said.
When Kimmel asked if anyone had been tricked into thinking they were invited to the wedding, Zendaya replied, “Yes, many people.”
Holland, who has not disclosed specific details about their ceremony, emphasized the stability of their relationship during his Esquire interview. “Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he said.
He added, “We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life… I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her.”
The couple recently made their first joint red carpet appearance in four years on Monday in Madrid, Spain. They are currently preparing for promotional tours ahead of their respective summer blockbuster films, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “The Odyssey,” which both debut in theaters this July.
