Corey Feldman, 54, was rushed to the hospital on Monday following a mid-flight medical emergency on his way home to Los Angeles.
The former child star was met by emergency personnel immediately after his plane landed at Los Angeles International Airport. An onboard doctor treated Feldman during the flight after he began feeling ill, and paramedics were waiting at the gate when the aircraft arrived.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that a 54-year-old male was transported from the airport for further medical evaluation and treatment. Feldman’s publicist later confirmed the incident, stating that the actor was admitted and “resting” overnight while awaiting the results of an MRI.
Medical staff believe the sudden pain could be related to either gallstones or pancreatitis.
The health scare occurred shortly after Feldman concluded a two-city promotional tour for “Stand by Me Live,” a celebratory event marking the 1986 coming-of-age film. Feldman appeared in Indianapolis on June 13 and Chicago on June 14 alongside co-stars Wil Wheaton and Jerry O’Connell.
Before his medical emergency, Feldman shared an optimistic social media post noting that, because of “incredible turnouts” at both venues, “chances are very high” that the trio would soon announce additional tour dates. Between the two tour stops, Feldman also made a personal pit stop in Gary, Indiana, the hometown of his late friend Michael Jackson.
Feldman had previously described the bond with his co-stars in an interview published in March: “The camaraderie is there; the jokes are there. We have so much fun.”
This celebratory tour follows recent friction surrounding a high-profile memorial for the film’s director, Rob Reiner, who was killed alongside his wife, Michelle, in December 2025. Authorities have alleged their son, Nic Reiner, was responsible.
While O’Connell and Wheaton were among the 17 actors from Rob Reiner’s projects invited onstage for a tribute at the 2026 Oscars, Feldman was excluded.
Feldman addressed the omission in a March interview: “I think Jerry and Wil did what had to be done. It was a fleeting moment, so I don’t feel like I missed much at all.”
“I personally was probably maybe a little bothered by the fact that nobody got to speak or do or say anything from their own heart,” he continued. “Although they did a wonderful job, I would’ve liked to have heard from Wil and Jerry and a few other people up there.”
He further reflected on the snub and the director’s death: “Personally, it felt a little bit like a family reunion I wasn’t invited to, but we’re not going to use this time to go into my feeling about that.” Feldman added, “Instead I just want to say that I’m with the rest of us, we’re all very destroyed that things went down the way they did, losing Rob when we all thought he’d be joining us at some point for this tour and it’s a tragedy.”
