Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s Peace Plan Faces Condemnation for Territorial Cessions

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday that draft documents, including security guarantees and a framework for ending the war, had been prepared after talks between U.S. officials and Ukrainian representatives.

The agreements followed Miami meetings with European delegations and separate discussions in Florida with Russian representatives as Washington tests potential peace settlements following nearly four years of conflict.

Kyiv has sought to balance an initial proposal that demands Ukraine cede territory and restrict its military capabilities—a decision widely viewed as undermining national security.

Zelenskyy stated the documents aim to prevent a third Russian invasion.
