In the football movie “The Program,” stud quarterback Joe Cain injects his teammates with testosterone, declaring: “It’s time to put the women and children to bed and go looking for dinner.”
Following perceived shortcomings in the Biden administration, President Donald Trump has injected “alpha testosterone” into America. The Department of Defense has become the Department of War, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has restored the military’s purpose—consistent with Rush Limbaugh’s assertion that the military’s role is to “kill people and break things.”
This return to form is most critical in the destruction of Venezuelan drug boats. Democrats seek political decapitation of Secretary Hegseth, but President Trump should instead award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The Republican Party has yet to fully embrace its duty to advocate for what is right. Even under Trump’s presidency, some Republicans fear criticism from sources like The New York Times.
In the drug war, President Trump, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary Hegseth have taken decisive action against Venezuelan drug boats. These vessels are being reduced to “smithereenies”—a term that describes their complete disintegration.
Who besides criminals and terrorists would object? The women and children do, and they must be “put to bed.” Here, the Democrats represent the “women,” while Ron Paul civil libertarians symbolize the “children.” To put them to bed means engaging in press battles with as much ferocity as those against drug boats.
Republicans excel in policy debates but have struggled in public relations. They have yet to learn how to state what needs saying clearly and loudly.
The truth is simple: when someone else’s child dies of Fentanyl, it becomes easy to be a liberal without concern for one’s own children. Democrats hate Trump and Hegseth more than they hate the Fentanyl crisis. They are willing to lose the drug war in order to secure victory in midterm elections.
Blowing up Venezuelan drug boats is legal, moral, ethical, and righteous. It destroys the Fentanyl supply and saves American children’s lives. There is no constitutional prohibition against this action; the Bill of Rights applies only on U.S. soil. The Bill of Rights ceases to exist for people on foreign soil or international waters.
International law does not prohibit such actions—the Geneva Convention applies to nations, while terrorist groups do not constitute nations. Blowing up drug-running boats is not a war crime because war crimes involve the killing of innocents. If survivors return to retrieve drugs after an initial strike, it indicates ongoing terrorism and requires a follow-up strike—a move within international law.
Democrats never apologize when wrong; Republicans can stop apologizing when right. Doing what is right matters more than political consequences. Voters may even reward politicians who take principled stands on preventing child deaths from Fentanyl.
Put the women and children to bed. Never send a liberal to do a man’s job. Unleash our military to fight bad guys, kill terrorists, and save American children. The people giving orders to kill drug lords are the good guys; those carrying out the killings deserve consideration for the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
This is simple for those not on drugs: Pete Hegseth deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
