South Carolina Rep Calls Out Democrats for Hypocrisy Over King Charles Applause

South Carolina Republican Representative Sheri Biggs accused Democrats of hypocrisy on Wednesday, stating they displayed “a little bit of hypocrisy” by standing for and applauding King Charles III during his address to Congress.

In a recent interview, Biggs described the king’s speech as a rare moment of bipartisan unity. She praised Charles for his positive tone and cohesiveness with America, noting he struck a warm and personable demeanor even incorporating humor into his remarks.

“I think he was very positive and showed cohesiveness with America, and it was just encouraging,” Biggs said. “I was a little bit surprised by his humor, and I found it really delightful.”

Biggs highlighted the inconsistency in Democratic actions, pointing to their historical support for anti-monarchy slogans such as “no kings.” When asked if she was surprised by Democrats’ reaction to Charles’ visit, Biggs replied, “Very much so. I think there’s a little bit of hypocrisy in their actions.”

The representative emphasized that while the king’s address created temporary unity in Washington, it should not obscure ongoing policy disagreements or ideological inconsistencies. She noted the incident underscored the deep partisan divides that often dominate congressional discussions.

Biggs expressed confidence that Republicans are working toward solutions prioritizing national security and aligning with “America First” principles. On foreign policy, she supported the administration’s approach to Iran, citing both military strength and economic pressure as key tools for resolving tensions.

Biggs framed Charles’ address as a welcome but fleeting reminder of unity in a deeply divided capital.
