Conservative filmmaker and political commentator Dinesh D’Souza told Newsmax on Monday that the left has been “despiritualizing America” for decades. In an appearance on “The Chris Salcedo Show,” D’Souza promoted his new film, “The Dragon’s Prophecy,” which he said highlights a growing spiritual awakening among younger generations.
D’Souza noted that polling indicates Gen Z is increasingly seeking meaning through faith and religion, contrasting with the left’s efforts to erode traditional values. He linked this shift to recent events, including the killing of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, which he framed as part of a broader cultural renewal.
The filmmaker also highlighted what he described as biblical parallels between the current conflict in the Middle East and ancient history. D’Souza argued that the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel was not merely a terrorist act but a “biblical event,” drawing connections to battles between the ancient Israelites and the Philistines. He pointed out that the words “Philistine” and “Palestine” share a linguistic origin.
D’Souza emphasized his hope that “The Dragon’s Prophecy” would contribute to what he called a spiritual revival in America, acknowledging that the phenomenon has gained unexpected momentum.
