Washington, April 17, 2026 — During a recent appearance on “Wake Up America Early” with host Alex Kraemer, Representative John Rose of Tennessee declared Senator Bernie Sanders’ comments on the Iran conflict “border on being antisemitic.”
Rose criticized Sanders’ opposition to U.S. support for Israel and military action tied to Iran, arguing that the Vermont independent senator mischaracterizes the conflict.
“The president has taken us down this road of action toward Iran to stop them from getting nuclear weapons and the capacity to deliver them to our country,” Rose stated during the segment.
Sanders had previously argued that Americans “do not want us to continue spending billions” supporting what he called the “illegal, horrific, and expansionist war policies” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Rose framed the issue as one of U.S. national security, crediting President Donald Trump with showing “leadership” by confronting Iran after years of weak policies from both Democratic and Republican predecessors.
“He tried desperately to negotiate … but they refused to negotiate in good faith,” Rose added.
The remarks follow a narrow House vote this week rejecting a war powers resolution aimed at limiting the president’s authority over the Iran conflict, with the measure failing by just one vote.
Rose also accused Senate Democrats of obstructing funding for law enforcement, noting that “Democrats in the Senate, led by Leader Chuck Schumer, are determined to defund the police,” placing “the safety and security of Americans behind protecting criminal illegal aliens.”
Additionally, Rose referenced former California Democrat Representative Eric Swalwell, stating, “It’s good to see him being held accountable,” and suggesting Democrats had previously shielded Swalwell for political reasons.
