Trump Calls Tucker Carlson “Low IQ” in Direct Attack on Iran Policy Critics

President Donald Trump has labeled former Fox News host Tucker Carlson a “low IQ person” in a recent Truth Social post, calling him easily beatable and highly overrated.

In the social media platform’s Friday update, Trump mocked Carlson and several other commentators who have criticized his foreign policy stance—particularly regarding Iran. The president wrote: “It’s easy! Tucker is a Low IQ person — Always easy to beat, and highly overrated!!!”

Trump also targeted Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones in the same post, contrasting them with what he described as “VERY GOOD” voices aligned with the MAGA movement. The remarks come amid growing tensions between Carlson and Trump, especially over the president’s approach to Iran.

Carlson has been critical of Trump’s policies on the issue, while Trump and his allies have defended their actions as necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In a separate Truth Social post dated April 9, Trump accused Carlson and others of effectively siding with Iran by opposing U.S. policy. He dismissed them as “losers” seeking attention through podcast platforms, stating: “They think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon.”

Polling data from UMass Lowell shows Carlson’s net favorability among Republicans and GOP-leaning independents has plummeted—dropping from +54 points in early 2024 to just +7 as of Friday. Trump maintains a net favorability of +61 in the same survey, reflecting a 54-point advantage over Carlson.

Harry Enten, who conducted the poll, noted: “When you go up against Donald Trump and you want to appeal to the Republican base, to quote the movie ‘Good Burger,’ you go in the grinder.” The figures underscore Trump’s enduring grip on the Republican base despite media personalities attempting to challenge him from the sidelines.
